Well, like I said, sometimes the map is full of one herb and then the next day is gone.

 

I think recipes (I assume you are talking about the ones for chefs) have to be adjusted not only to how rare the herbs needed are, but also the crafting time by a herbalist. One of the chefs recipes ask for 5 Mystery Sauce, which taking aside the herbs it needs, it takes 35 minutes for 1. So it needs 175 of herbalist crafting (not including the pre-process) and then another amount for the chef to craft it. So for only 1 of that item we require like 3 hours which means that players are stuck for all that time (which is time we wont be playing, at most just in the tavern), and that hurts the game.

 

Instead of raiding, defending or whatever we are stuck crafting.

To elaborate on what mitty is trying to say: I have two choices at lvl 350 for crafting, to get to lvl 375 (An arbitrary assumption of where the next craft might be)

 

Choice 1: Craft Soy Ramen, my lvl 350 reduction craft
- At 1 exp per craft this option would require 25 crafts and net me 1 stack of 25 ramen (donation amount unconfirmed)

 

Ingredients Needed:
10 Wheat Flour

10 Bottled Water
10 Lvl 3 Meat (High Quality)
10 Soy Flour
5 Soy Oil
5 Mystery Sauce
5 Soy Powder

 

Ryo gained/lost: According to the going prices for these items in silence, this would cost me about 150-200k per craft. for a net loss of about 3.75-5mil loss, as you cannot trade reduction items only donate them.

 

Time spent crafting: 2000 minutes (over 33 hours)

 

 

Timer reduced to 60 minutes a piece.

Reduced items needed for each craft.

Increased craft stack.

Changed meat to High quality.

 

 

Choice 2: Craft Mystery Ration, my lvl 310 healing craft
- At 0.5 exp per craft this option would require 50 crafts and net me 50 rations or 5 stacks of 10 rations each.

 

Ingredients needed:
1 Rice
4 Lvl 3 Meat (High Quality)
1 Mystery Sauce
1 White Pepper Powder
1 Black Pepper Powder

 

Ryo gained/lost: I would break even as i currently sell these for what it costs me to make them (about 20k per ration)

 

Time spent crafting: 4000 minutes (almost 67 hours)

 

 

Increased payout

Changed meat to normal.

Removed peppers.

 

Overview:

Since the main and most difficult ingredient to come by is mystery sauce, comprised of fairly hard to find items like wasabi, and tade which is a very difficult herb to procure, relatively speaking, 1 craft of soy ramen is worth about 5 crafts of mystery rations.  That coupled with the fact i would lose millions of ryo crafting the ramen means that crafting it is simply out of the question and renders the dish almost pointless.  As anyone who is interested in reduction would go with a much cheaper option.  Leaving me in the end with about 4000 hours of crafting ahead of me 

(To be fair i do have gold fed so all of this is cut down by 50%. but this post isn't just about me personally it's about the system as a whole, which i hope isn't balanced around people buying fed.)

 

Wasabi isn't exactly rare. Red Seaweed (Tade) is mainly far into the uncharted. But it's among the most common herbs once there.

 

The above should lighten the load a bit, I'm making some tables to see which herb needs more use, and how best to update late-game Chef. So no, it's not fixed yet.

So I unlocked the final two pieces of the basic EJ set.Steel Enforced Vest and pants. And I'm wondering.. why 200 minutes for a craft for -basic- armor. Which is only 90 durability. (which all basic sets are, pretty sure the ones in item shop you can buy are 90 as well.)

 

I thought the village pieces each being 3 hours were bad. I'm scared to see the final unlock and the timers. Because if it's any indication it's going to go up and I'll keep going over mission timers. No craft should be longer than 3 hours.

but Meteor Dart should be earned at the same experience level as the Wakizashi.
I got Katana at 295.

Just unlocked a new EJ reciepe.  Seems that it is another village specific meat that will require an upgraded item shop (something my kage refuses to do, unfortunately.  so progress, personally, will grind to a near halt again.)

the craft time and mats required seem reasonable.  but an overall complaint from me so far is that since i've started leveling EJ chef, ive unlocked nothing but out of battle heal items.  no in battle heals, buffs, debuffs, poisons, etc.  we could use some variety.

does shine have their item shop upgraded? and what level is it that you unlocked roadrunner? dont pass me plz =]

also ive been crafting alot of those bbq rations and noticed a trend.  when i asked for mandarin peels from herbalists they all had very few on them, but where literally begging me to take their dried mandarin. this was happening at all ranks of herbalist as well.  havent taken a look yet to figure out why that is but it seems out of the two mandarin materials dried mandarin isnt getting enough love

 

 

 

also what experience level is bbq ration unlocked?  you added it after i passed that exp level. hoping it should be ok to share since you are chef too (im assuming), and have you tested out what the roadrunner heals ?

Mandarin gives 6 Dried Mandarin and 2 Grounded mandarin peel.

Dried is used in

Refreshing Rations (12 per craft)

Restoration Powder (6 per craft)

Sun Ramen (2 per craft)

Shadow Ramen (2 per craft)

 

Grounded Mandarin Peel is used in:

Shichimi (4 per craft)

BBQ Rations (4 per craft)

 

 

BBQ rations unlock at lvl 330.

Village specific crafts at lvl 375.

 

The village foods have 2 effects. Their display when consumed is a bit screwy, but the effects work.

 

Shine's Village shop is Level 3.

i see. its because shichimi and bbq ration are far more useful. (especially shichimi. its gotta be one of the most commonly requested herbalist craft)

Restoration powder is pretty good for lower hp chuunin, but refreshing portion is useless pretty early on and wont be crafted alot, and sun/shadow ramen has that "lvl 1 HQ meat" problem, and hemp ramen is alot easier and cheaper to craft so it probaby rarely sees crafting.

perhaps decreasing the amount of dried mandarin to 1 instead of 6 per process or putting dried mandarin in a few more higher rank receipts and increasing the amounts per craft to 5 - 15 will help.
