August 08, 2009 - Things you can't apply for
So lately there were a bunch of odd and rather overpowered things applied for in either the Custom Jutsu section or the Weapons section. Some of the arguments used were along the lines of "but it has never been done before" or "there are no current rules against it" and such. Now whether some of those things should've been obvious from the start or whether someone didn't consider a certain aspect of the RP back when the original rules were made doesn't really matter. After all rules can change anytime without previous notification should it so be deemed necessary.
This here shall be a list of concepts that aren't currently found acceptable by TNF standards.
Time travel
This was discussed among the staff as being something that shouldn't be allowed for various reasons - lack of originality, impossibility to pull it off, high possibility of metagaming to name just a few. This doesn't however mean that time affecting jutsu and possibly items won't be allowed provided they're balanced and make sense.
Teleportation
Teleportation is the transfer of matter from one point to another, more or less instantaneously, either by paranormal means or through technological artifice.
That concept too is deemed too powerful to be allowed at this time. The possibilities for abuse are many and varied, ranging from insta-kills to moving around the restrictions placed on some techniques already dealing in something somewhat similar (Kawarimi and Shunshin to name just two of them). Space manipulation in general is frowned upon but small uses of it may be allowed, again provided they're balanced and make sense.
I believe a special case here would be the Gyaku Kuchiyose no Jutsu [Reverse Summoning Technique]. Should this technique be allowed on TNF, then it will be most likely become a global ninjutsu just like the regular Kuchiyose. Until such a thing happens however please refrain from making any similar techniques.
Knowing what the future will bring
TNF doesn't currently have any seers or prophets, and as such the future is something uncertain. Knowing what's going to happen ahead of time would obviously be metagaming. Since metagaming isn't allowed, this idea too cannot be allowed.
