OOC: Closed except to Leera and myself.
IC: Ako walked in. An academy student he was recently acquainted with requested a private session with Ako. She said she wanted some toughening up. Perhaps she did not want to suffer the consequences of an explosive tag again. Ako did not know. But seeing as she was cute, Ako could not resist saying no. Besides, maybe some time after she grew up Ako could get her as his girlfriend. There was always a chance.
Ako set the room. It was about medium sized, which is big for a private room. But hey, this was a ninja school. The room was empty too except for 4 lights set in a square pattern on the ceiling to provide light.
Ako walked to the very top of the wall using kinobori, and stood over the door laying in wait for his "student". The first thing she would see is an empty wall on the other side, and once she took a couple steps forward, Ako would drop down behind her and say,
"Hello"
Leera contacted Ako upon her return to the academy and requested a private class. She hoped he would be able to help toughen her up a bit, seeing as he was an instructor.
She brought Reni with her, against her better judgement. Once she revealed her wishes to Ako, she was scared of what he might do in order to help her achieve her goal. But Reni was willing to take that risk.
As she entered the classroom, she expected to see Ako, and stepped further into the room, wondering where he could be.
"Hello"
She screamed and spun around, stumbling backwards and gripping Reni tighter. One of her hands flew to a kunai.
Then she saw Ako and sighed, replacing the kunai.
"Hi..." She shifted her weight, but kept the distance between them. "I'm sorry I left so quickly. I just really needed to see my family. And thank you for agreeing to this." There was a blush burning across her face and she couldn't meet his gaze.
Silly girl... Reni sighed.

"It's ok, but you didn't need to destroy my bunshin with shuriken you know. They traveled right through and buried themselves in the wall. I had to repaint it."
Ako smiled. He was having fun at this point. The last time he heard a scream was when he was walking out of his classroom after setting a couple students on fire. Now he just drops behind her and she freaks out. Nice.
"Now, you wanted me to toughen you up right? For starters, you don't want to scream and instantly grab your kunai out of reflect. You should've grabbed your kunai out of instinct and kept your cool. You won't last long if you are taken by fear. Haven't you ever watched a scary movie? The survivor usually kept his head or simply got lucky. In the shinobi world, luck won't always save you."
Aww... it's so cute how she can't look at me. I must look amazing... as usual.
Reni squirmed in her arms and Leera set her lightly down. Leera contemplated grabbing the fox back up and hugging her close as she approached Ako and rubbed against his leg.
Leera listened to his words, nodding slightly. She already knew what he was saying, of course. She just needed to execute it. That was the hard part.
She continued to shift her weight as she studied her now thoroughly tanned arms. It had been a long, sunny trip back. She kind of wondered if he noticed the change...
When are we going to get to the actual training?

"Might want to just watch in the corner there, Reni. I wouldn't want to hurt you," said Ako to the fox.
Of course, it sucks to be harming such a cute girl. But such is the world of the shinobi.
"Pain, something every shinobi will encounter. The good news is that you can learn to over come that pain through training and discipline. The bad news is that learning to overcome pain is painful. Ironic isn't it? It's mostly in your mind though. You will learn how to block it out."
Ako walked up to Leera and throw a punch right at her gut.
Leera felt the air leave her body as she gasped, doubling over. Her hands flew protectively over her stomach and she stumbled blindly backward, as her world had somewhat darkened from the impact, and she attempted to escape both the pain and whatever Ako had coming next.
Sorry I asked...
She shook her head, trying to shake off the pain and clear her blurry vision as it started to come back.
----------
Reni was almost to her corner when she heard the punch. She spun around and watched as Leera backstepped and cradled her wounded stomach.
She hated seeing her companion in pain, but it's what the girl needed. She just had to push through it.

"There are two ways to "ignore" pain. The first is to block the sensation from your mind. The second is to accept the pain, realize it is there, and go on with whatever it is you are doing. Your subconscious will take care of the rest. Which will you choose?"
As soon as Leera looked like she was coming back to her senses, Ako backhanded the girl across her jaw.
I don't think I'll be doing that too often if I date her...
She was sprawled on her back this time. Her jaw stinging. Leera knew there had to be a huge red mark covering the area. She could feel it throbbing and slowly moved her jaw, making sure she still could.
There were a few tears in her eyes, and they managed to streak down the sides of her face, but she ignored them and slowly rolled onto her stomach before carefully climbing back to her feet.
She was determined to stand her ground and face Ako.
I can do this...

"You are allowed to fight back you know. What good is it to learn how to deal with pain if you can't dish it back out?"
Ako then swung his shin around at her thigh. If he hit it right, she would find it difficult to move around on that leg, if he hit it, it would still hurt the leg. Not bad for a single attack. Of course, should he miss, Ako would simply plant the foot down, and throw a back kick at Leera's gut again, his heel being the first thing to impact her stomach.
Leera managed to dodge the kick to her thigh, but got the full-effect of the heel to her gut. Again, she felt the wind as it left her, her world darkened, and she began to double over.
However, she managed to grab his leg with both of her hands. Partially to keep herself from falling backwards and partially in retaliation.
There wasn't much she could do, but she held onto his ankle with one hand and retrieved a kunai from her pouch with the other.
I could go for his calf...
She was hesitant to go through with an attack, unsure if she could actually convince herself to do it.

"What are you waiting for? I'm your enemy right now."
Ako hopped off the leg that was still on the ground and twisted his body around. Now fully in the air, his free leg would try to find its way to Leera's jaw. Even if Leera let go of his other leg, she would still have to dodge the leg aimed towards her jaw, Ako's movement through the air being quick enough to pretty much ignore gravity for the moment and allowing Ako to land safely, on one leg or two.
"See? Now it's too late to cut my calf."
Once again, she was on the ground. More tears raced down her cheeks and mingled with the blood that was now dripping from the side of her mouth.
The kick had thrown her to the side, sliding her across the ground and once again onto her stomach. She carefully propped herself up on her hands and knees.
Come on... She blinked back the tears and trembled slightly.
She allowed her thoughts to race back to every attack made upon her, in this class and in her spars.
I'm a Kemuri. You aren't getting the best of me.
Slowly, she lifted herself to her feet, grabbing the kunai she'd dropped, and three shuriken from her pouch. She threw the shuriken at Ako, quickly replacing them with a second kunai, and launched herself after the shuriken.
She had one hand fisted around her kunai, her knuckles aiming for his jaw. Her second kunai was aimed at his gut. She wasn't going to let him get away with humiliating her.

Frontal assualt? heh...
Ako took out his kunai and easily knocked the three shuriken aside. His great eyesight and agility more than a match for three mere shuriken to even phase him. He then turned his attention to the girl's punch, and found it a great pleasure to have her impale her hand on it.
He held the kunai straight out, making sure its tip would be the first thing the girls hand would hit. Since Ako was much stronger than her, despite him being weak for his rank, the girls punch would not make it any farther than his kunai.
"Question... if you are going to draw kunai on me, why use your fist? Seems counter productive," said Ako nonchalantly.
Leera bit back a scream as his kunai impaled her hand, and she still pushed herself forward, not slowing.
"For this." She murmured, her face not all that far from his.
Her other hand kept moving forward, straight toward his gut, with the kunai held tightly.
The hand he impaled pulled back, removing his kunai, and blood raced down her fingers. They still held her own kunai, which she was now aiming at his shoulder with as much force behind it as she could muster.

Aww... no scream... I guess she's getting a little better. Good.
Ako released the kunai, allowing her hand to take it away from him. He had more. Meanwhile, he took his other hand and grabbed the hand aimed at his stomach and used his strength to stop her from reaching his stomach. It was close, he could feel the tip of the blade against his stomach. Then the other girls hand came down into his shoulder. Ako probably could've stopped it if he wanted to, but he decided he'd show off his own ability to withstand pain.
The kunai sank into his shoulder. Ako smiled, the pain was nothing new to him, and there was only so much force a small academy student could put behind it. He kicked the girl in the stomach, attempting to knock her back a little.
He pulled the kunai out and examined it.
"See? Nothing too it. By the way. This isn't that much blood. In a real fight, you may be witness to plenty of disturbing things any normal person would cringe at. But we are hardly normal people... we are shinobi. Oh, you can have this back."
Ako threw the blood stained kunai back at Leera, it would impact on her shoulder if she didn't move.
I hope she doesn't get AIDS...
There was a sickening feeling as the kunai sank into her shoulder. She quickly pulled it out, throwing both kunai at him. Then she pulled his kunai out from between her knuckles and threw it as well.
Her hands flew to Cal and Jem, unsheathing them, and placing them in a ready position.
Slowly, she began to circle Ako, facing him and simply sliding her foot to the side, pulling herself along behind it.
Frontal assaults don't work...but maybe from behind...

Oooo tanto. Interesting.
Ako jumped up, doing a half flip and landed on the ceiling, using kinobori to keep himself there. Facing her, he pulled out two kunai.
"Just to make things interesting," he said smiling. Though, being upside down, one could interpret it as a frown.
Its too bad she's so young, this could make for an interesting view.
"Damn."
Leera watched him, waiting to see what happened. In reality, there wasn't much she could do. She thought of throwing some more shuriken, but he'd just knock the aside like the last time. And she wasn't going to risk throwing one of her blades.
Oh well... She sighed. It can't hurt to try.
She quickly threw five shuriken at him, rushing to retrieve two of the kunai she'd previously thrown, then threw them at him as well.
Then, she stood ready, her blades held up to fend off any projectiles or attacks that he may have in store.

Ako smiled and quickly made his way to overtop of Leera. His head was about a foot away from hers. He pointed at her, letting the explosive note he had just gotten out float down towards the ground, away from his finger.
"Look out," said Ako in a half amused, half serious tone of voice.
He then quickly made his way to the other side of the room, away from the explosion, and before Leera could make a move against him at that location.
Leera ducked and rolled out of the way, in the same direction as Ako, having enough experience with explosive tags. The ceiling was tall cmapired to her, considering her heighth.
She was immediately on her feet, throwing both of her tantos up, aiming for Ako's shoulders.
How long until I can actually do something right?

Ako took a step forward, the tanto striking into his coat.
Dammit... I just bought this yesterday. Oh well...
Ako dropped his hands down, allowing his coat to fall off in the process. His arms went in a pincer movement, his kunai would pierce her right underneath her arm pits.
"If you can't control your emotions you won't be able to think clearly. If you can't think clearly you can't discern your best course of action. If you can't discern your best course of action, you will die. Of course, even if you managed to follow the best course of action every time, you could still lose. Such is the shinobi way."
Leera saw the kunai and managed to shift slightly, so that it simply sliced her armpit. Then Jem was cutting towards his elbow.
Was she letting her emotions control her? She wasn't true. She just knew that she wanted to win. She wasn't willing to finish this until she managed to get the upper hand.
Cal was ready to block anything else he had ready for her. And she knew she could also use it's force to support Jem, making an impact even harder.
She wasn't going to die. She was going to show him. She was a Kemuri, directly related to Zaulyl, defeating him, or at least showing him up, wasn't going to be a hard task for her.

Ako took another two steps forward, the tip of the blade managed to just slice into his back. Again it was nothing serious. Ako simply took another step forward while forming some handseals. He then turned around and shot out two wires, each aimed for the girls wrists/hands, attempting to bind themselves to her.
This would cause one of her hands pain, as it was still bleeding by the look of it. Ako wasn't sure how she could continue holding onto her tanto. The kunai she had impaled herself on probably broke a couple bones in her hand.
Apparently that one has an iron grip... makes one wonder Ako smirked a bit as he pondered that idea.
The wires wrapped around her wrists, making her drop Cal, as that hand was already weakened. She pulled back immediately, not hundred percent sure of what was going on.
She twisted her right wrist around, bringing Jem around and slicing the wires. She then quickly grabbed both the wires, getting a good grip, and tugged as hard as possible. She kept Jem pointed toward Ako, just in case, by some miracle, she could pull him closer.
Come on, please. Breathing was hard and she tried her best not to show it. She was getting tired quickly.

Leera pulled alright. She pulled hard but Ako had plenty of wire left over in his reels. He simply let her pull out some more wire and then manipulated it to bind around her, squeezing tight. Ako jumped down and twisted 180 degrees in order to land on his feet. He was tired by all this, not to mention a little dazed by having fought upside down for so long. It was mentally stressful to partake in such a fight.
"Mmmm... not bad. I'll teach you some more later. You need time to rest."
He flipped through a handseal and suddenly the wires melted together, forming one tight-fitting piece around her. He cut himself free from those wires.
"You can work you way out of that I guess. You still have your other tanto there," said Ako pointing.
Ako then turned and started walking towards the door. He opened it and turned off the lights.
"ooo, darkness. So scary. Goodnight!" said Ako as he closed the door. The door was locked from the outside, which meant that when Leera found the handle, she would be able to open it easily. As soon as she cut herself free from the steel binding her.
I think I'll just wait out here and listen to her scream at me.
Ako sat down and leaned against the wall. He closed his eyes and focused on his hearing, putting some chakra there to amplify his sense of hearing.
Leera began to panic as soon as the lights went out. She was tied up, left in the dark, and locked in. She wasn't claustrophobic, and definitely not scared if the dark, since she had above average night-time vision. But claustrophobia began to sink in anyway.
Her eyes managed to find the light filtering in from the edges of the door, and she focused on that. Her eyes managed to use that bit of light to illuminate the door and a couple of inches around it.
Something brushed against her side and she screamed.
"It's just me."
Leera calmed down slightly at Reni's voice. She managed to calm enough to think through the situation, and try to figure a way out.
Jem was caught underneath the wires as well, the blade pointing to the left and slightly brushing her chest. She shifted slightly, trying to manuveur the blade so that she could rub it against the wires.
Instead, the blade twisted around and cut into her chest. It wasn't deep, but it hurt and bleed. She screamed again and continued to work, managing to scratch more of her chest before finally getting the blade to face the right direction.
She managed to get her hand on the bottom of the tanto's hilt, gripping it the best she could. Slowly, she pushed it up and pulled it back. It took half an hour, but she finally managed to cut through the wires.
Her hand left hand ached. The bones between her middle and ring fingers were definately either broken or bruised, and the gash from the kunai was at least an inch deep. There was a scratch under her right arm, which still bled. And there were at least three different scratches on the right side of her chest, from her own tanto. Not to mention the bruises on her jaw and stomach, from Ako's blows.
And yet, somehow, she was still pushing through it. She wanted to rest, needed it. Her eyes were beginning to close of their own accord and her entire body throbbed.
"You aren't getting away with this." She clinched her teeth against the pain, slowly pushing herself to her feet. She fell once, sprawling on her stomach.
It hurts... She closed her eyes against the tears, pressing her face against the ground. She wanted to give up so badly. She had to.
Reni brushed against her arm, licking her neck. The fox didn't want her to give up. The girl needed to keep going, to keep fighting, for her own sake.
Zau, how can you handle it? How can you keep pushing through it all? How can I ever make it to your level? She bit her lip, hard enough to draw blood.
I'm going to beat you, cousin. You'll see. You'll be proud of me, and Grampa will be proud of me, and mother - the entire Kemuri clan.
Her thoughts flashed back to what her mother had said. She was so much like her father. The father that had abandoned her.
Her anger flashed. I am going to find you and you are going to make up for the tweleve years that you weren't there. You owe me that much. And you're going to let me figure out how I am so fucking much like you.
The pain was there, but it was simply a dull, annoying throb now. She slowly climbed back to her feet, swaying, but kept walking forward. Reni stayed right on her heel.
When she reached the door, she put all of her strength against it, twisting the handle and throwing it open.
As soon as she was out, in the light, she shifted and saw Ako.
"You!" She stumbled to him, grabbing the front of his shirt and pulling him up so that her face was inches from his. At the same time she used all the strength to could gather to press him against the wall. She really wanted him to pay. "Do you have any fucking clue who the hell you're messing with? I don't give a damn who you think you are, but you do not treat me like that!"
Her eyes flashed and she stood glaring at him, panting in her outrage. He wasn't going to get away with this.

Ako heard her scream twice. He chuckled to himself.
Still unfit to be a shinobi...
Ako, straining his hearing, managed to hear scrapes and the sound of her body thudding against the ground. She was making her way to the door already. Ako stopped focusing on his hearing, he was sure the girl would have some choice words for him.
Half an hour, not bad...
Then he saw her open it, and immediately he was being screamed at. He chuckled a little. All that strain and she still had the guts to threaten him? HA!
This would be cute if she were two years older. Unfortunately, she's not and I'm now annoyed.
Ako smiled. "Leera of the Kemuri clan, I know exactly who you are, and you are nothing compared to me. I'll treat you as well as I please."
And with that, Ako knocked the girl out with a swift chop to the base of her neck. He caught her as she fell.
"Come on Reni, let's get her to the hospital. The quicker her body heals, the faster she can get back to training."
Reni growled softly as Ako knocked Leera out, but she followed him as he carried the girl to the hospital. She stayed by the girl's side and she was treated, and until she awoke.
----------
Leera came to about a day later. She was healed, thanks to the skills of the medical ninja. Her anger and frustration were still there, especially after seeing that Ako was still there.
Once she was set to leave, she climbed out of bed and stalked back toward the classroom. She didn't even look back to ensure that Ako was following. She already knew that he would.
Reni was at her heels again, and immediately returned to her corner once they entered the room.
Leera picked up her weapons, which were scattered about the room. She kept Cal and Jem out, and turned to face Ako.
"What next, oh great one?" She was pissed and there was heavy mockery in her voice. She was going to do whatever the hell she had to do to show him. To get his respect.
She was more than he thought. More than Zau thought. More than anyone expected. And she was going to prove it.
She quickly went through a set of hand seals, muttering "Bunshin no Jutsu" under her breath, and created four clones, each with their own versions of Cal & Jem drawn.

Ako walked behind Leera. It would probably be more entertaining to be walking behind her two years from now. But Ako didn't have a time machine readily at hand so, he would just have to wait. They went back into their private room and Ako waited for Leera to collect her weapons. He had already collected his while Leera was out cold in the hospital.
It's a good thing she woke up, I was beginning to think I hit her too hard...
"Next we..." Ako noticed Leera create some bunshin "cute trick. Mine are better as you already know. They can actually hit you. Anyways, next I will fight you using only jutsu. You will learn how it feels to be hit by various elemental jutsu. Well... the ones I can use anyway."
Ako flipped through a couple handseals.
She may as well learn to receive my custom jutsu. It's fairly powerful I think.
He pointed his palm out towards the Leera farthest on the edge. In quick succession, he fired a fireball at it and the two Leera's closest to it.
"Katon: Maruchi Dangan (http://www.theninja-forum.com/Vbulletin/showthread.php?t=17722)"
Leera watched as Ako performed his jutsu. She could only stare as three of her bunshin dispappeared from the fireballs.
Maybe she did have a reason to be scared. He could kill her, or at least permanently damage her body, with one simple attack.
And though she realized this, she still wanted to kick his ass. She was willing to take that risk, even if she would regret it later. She hated the way he walked, and the way he looked at her. She hated how he seemed to hold himself higher than everyone else.
No, he was definately going to get what was coming to him. Either that or she would die trying. This guy was worth it. She wondered if Zau felt this way about anyone, or if he was ever this harsh for that matter. She could picture her cousin standing up for what he believed in, but she couldn't imagine him ever purposefully wishing harm on someone.
Great...
She and her remaining bunshin both threw five shuriken at Ako. Following them up with two kunai each. Then launching themselves after the kunai, Cal's blade pressed behind Jem, supporting the attack and giving the smaller blade more power.
He'd humiliated her, knocked her out, treated her like shit. She was tired of this, of it all. Why she'd ever asked him for help, she didnt' know. Xun or Zau would've been just as effective. And she could trust that they weren't going to actually try to kill her.
If she managed to get close enough to attack, her attack was aimed to go straight across his chest. If he chose to dodge, she would simply spin the arm bearing Cal and throw the heavy tanto at him, her good aim taking over. If he counter-attacked, she would use Cal to back-up Jem and block the attack.

Oh yay... 10 shuriken and 4 kunai, only half of which are real. No need to actually find out which one are real though.
Ako flipped through some more handseals and jumped up and did a half twist. He was back on the ceiling, using kinobori to keep himself there. It was an effective means of dodging the shuriken and kunai, and the little Leeras placed herselves right underneath of him. Easy pickings.
He unleashed his fireballs again, 2 fireballs heading to two different targets, and once the real Leera was found out, he would fire the last one at her.
"Katon: Maruchi Dangan"
After firing, he moved quickly towards the other side of the room and jumped back down to the floor. He moved through handseals again.
The fireball singed Leera's left arm a little, as she began to dodge during his hand seals, mostly expecting his attack. During the dodge, she quickly flipped through her own hand seals once again.
"Bunshin no Jutsu"
She created four more bunshin, and twirled to face Ako. All five Leera had their tantos as they launched themselves at him again. Her blades were ready for whatever he decided to do.
Her blades were ready to attack him while he was still on the ceiling, but she was prepared to dodge his attacks.
This was getting old. Wasn't there anyway to get the upper hand? Her thoughts flew through the training from the past two days. What could she possibly do to throw him off?
Her mind spun, but she kept at it. She didn't allow her emotions to distract her at this moment.

"Katon: Maruchi Dangan" said Ako after finishing his seals. He had switched palms again, to avoid the hazardous effects of his jutsu. The chakra was flowing fine, it seemed Ako was finally getting used to using his new jutsu both in and out of battle.
The fireballs sped out from his hand, each one aimed towards one of the Leera's in the center. Any bunshin would surely be poofed away and Leera herself would probably have to at least try blocking the jutsu, allowing Ako to discern which one was real. Even if they were all bunshin, he would only have to deal with one bunshin, and the real Leera. There was a pretty good chance he'd get her then.
She's doing better... starting to use her head. I can see it... but she's still not there yet.
Ako waited for the outcome of his attack, putting his hands inside his pouches and bending his knees a little in preparation for movement.
Leera sped through her handseals and created two more bunshin, since he'd once again hit three of hers. She was getting tired now, but she kept going. She had to keep going.
She and her three bunshin each threw four shuriken. Two shuriken were aimed at him, the other two were aimed where she guessed he would end up if he chose to use kinobori again. Jem was still aimed to cut into his shoulder if he stayed in place. If he used kinobori, she would throw Cal. If he threw anything, she would be ready to knock it away if it was actually aimed at her.
This was really beginning to tick her off. She wanted the upper hand and she wanted it now. How long until she would get him? Or at least get him to respect her?
She watched his hands, waiting to see what was in store.

"Doton: Sekimori" said Ako moving his hands together quickly. Immediately a solid earthen wall came in between Ako and Leera. The top of the wall knocked the shuriken off course, and the one's aimed above his head missed.
Ah! She's getting it! Good... good...
He formed some more hand seals and the wall crumbled.
"Doton: Retsudotensho"
The rocks now littered throughout the room came to life and swarmed around the Leeras, spinning around her and hitting her at random from all angles.
I've used a third of my chakra already... that's what I get for only using jutsu.
Leera stopped short of the wall. Once it crumbled, she pushed through the storm of rocks, using her tantos in order to break them if they came too near.
Her bunshin disappeared, and she recieved a few hits, since she couldn't see any rocks coming from behind. She began to stumble a few times from impacts to her legs and back, but she pushed herself harder.
She kept going, when she was near enough, she would shift Jem so that the tanto would hit him horizontally across the chest.
She only hoped it would work, that he would be too stunned or surprised to see her still standing to put up any form of defense. She was ready to get ahead, to show him.

Heh... really determined this one.
"Doton: Dochu Eigyo no Jutsu" said Ako finishing his hand seals. The tanto just flew past his head as he descended into the ground. He was barely underneath it though. He just wanted to evade the attack.
Flipping through some more hand seals, Ako said "Katon: Houka" and a single large, powerful, fireball erupted from the ground where Leera was standing.
Ako popped out of the ground to see how Leera was doing.
"Hey, get up... real shinobi get up every time they get knocked down. Wanna know why? Because when you get back up, that means you are alive!"
Ako added emphasis to the word alive. It was important, what can I say?
"That one time you don't get up, you are as good as dead. So get up, or lay there and die. You will never survive in the shinobi world anyway."
Ako knew that these words would probably piss her off enough to get her to lift herself up off the ground. It seemed that her emotions were a powerful force within her. If she could only learn how to use it, she could persevere through sheer determination and effort.
Yeah... she better get up. I'm not done having fun with her.
Leera bit back the scream, she wasn't willing to let him have that pleasure. Her left foot burned, all the way up to just above her ankle. She closed her eyes, but managed to balance on her right leg, and jumped back, out of the way of the fireball.
Her leg gave out under her, and she curled up on the ground. It hurt, God it hurt.
It hurts...
She was all too familiar with the burning sensation radiating from her foot. She needed to go to the hospital, but she pushed through it. She had to keep going. Had to show that she could do it.
His words pounded into her head, echoing her own thoughts. She wanted to give up though, just fall asleep and give into the pain. It really did hurt.
You saw all of Zau's scars. Every single on of them. Do you think he got those buy giving up, by giving in? Zay worked his ass off.
Slowly, she managed to block out the throbbing. Then she was slowly pushing herself into a crouch. She managed to use her injured foot, placing only a little weight on it, and walking only on the ball of her foot.
"You're right, y'know." She swayed slightly, caught herself with her good foot, and struggled to meet his gaze. "I was never fit to be a shinobi." She gathered up Cal and Jem. "But there are people counting on me. And people who are expecting more from me than I could ever imagine." Her eyes flashed. "I'm going to be a shinobi. Like it or not. Face it. I'm going to be strong. And the only reason you're putting me through this is because you're scared that some girl is going to kick your ass." She grinned. "You're right. I am. Because you underestimated me all of this time. You aren't getting away with humiliating me like that."
She launched herself at him again. Jem was aimed for about a foot above his head, while Cal was aimed for his shoulder. He wasn't going to get away. She wasn't going to let him this time.
He'd hurt her enough. She really wanted to kick his ass. It was all she could concentrate on. The thought of making him pay for everything he'd done to her was constantly repeating itself in her mind.

Heh... this girl sure has guts. But she has no brains. Not yet anyway.
"Maybe when you start using your head I'll start being afraid." said Ako, lazily blocking Cal with a kunai.
"You may have asked me to toughen you up, but a person's body can only take on so much harm before it gives in, regardless of your wishes or determination. I've already told you a couple things about pain. But now I will tell you something that you can ponder on your own time:
Live to fight another day."
Ako punched Leera in the gut and then walked over towards where Reni was sitting, he sat down next to her and waited to see if Leera would take his advice.
You're no good to anyone if the first thing you do as a shinobi is charge headlong at your opponent and die. Learn how to fight, learn when to retreat. Life is a learning process.
"Leera, calm down. Take a break. Stop pushing yourself so hard. It does us no good if you work yourself to death."
Leera sank to her knees, her arms tight around her stomach as she panted. Reni was right, as always. She just hated to admit that Ako was right. She really didn't want to give him any form of satisfaction at all.
She swayed slightly, pushed one arm out, palm flat on the ground, to steady herself. She kept her eyes closed, trying to think. She didn't want to give up. She really didn't.
Her other hand crossed across her face, rubbing her temples and covering her eyes.
"Why do you always have to be right?" She shook her head. "Everything throughout this spar. You just had to be right."
She gulped. Her body was giving out, her mind was overwhelmed from stress and pain. Slowly, she lowered herself onto her stomach. Her body was beyond its limit, even though she was determind, she couldn't push any harder.
This is my best. It's all I can do for now. I just hope it's enough. I hope I haven't disgraced our name, or my own. Everything in me's gone now. I'm completely worn out.
"This is enough. You've done very well, Leera. I'm proud of you, and your mother would be, and Zau. Just rest now. I'm right here, I'll keep an eye out."
Leera swallowed and spoke softly, slowly giving her body over to itself.
"You're going to fight me again. And I'm going to kick your ass. Just so you know. And there's nothing you can do to prepare yourself because I won't be what you expect."
Then she let the darkness take over, and she was out cold.

Reni strode quickly over to Leera once she was out, and lick her cheek. The girl would have nightmares, she knew, and she was going to support her through them the best she could.
The fox turned, looking at Ako, and waited to see what he planned to do.
OOC: Leera's posts in this thread are equivalent to 8 pages of training in order to raise her endurance from below average to average.

Ako sat through Leera and Reni's conversation. The girl said something about him always being right, which was semi-true, and about kicking his ass one day.
Yeah... right...
Ako stood back up and paced around. He was thinking about the spar they just had. His jutsu needed some work. The defensive jutsu should take less time to use and he had not yet learned his custom jutsu properly. There was still something wrong with how he worked the chakra through his body.
When I use the jutsu with my left arm, as opposed to my right, I usually pass the chakra from my core, up through my heart, and down my arm in order to concentrate it at my palm. As it arrives in my palm I pack the chakra densely so that its small and moves quickly through the air. I then ignite the chakra and send it on its way. This all happens very quickly. But there's something wrong with that. What is it?
Ako thought for a while, and then realised what the problem was. Sending the chakra through the heart was disturbing its flow and weakening it, as his heart was a highway for the bodies energy to flow through, designed to handle the physical portions of his movement only, not chakra. He would have to send the chakra up his spine, pass it above his heart, and down his arm to the palm. The path was slightly longer, but it should not affect the speed he could use his jutsu, and the chakra should not be disturbed.
Ako, after figuring this out, reached into his pocket and through a kunai at the opposite wall. Immediately he flipped through his hand seals which remained unchanged and started to direct his chakra flow. He sent it up, above his heart, and then down his arm, just as he planned it to, and accumulated it at his palm, packing it densely. He ignited the chakra and sent three fireballs speeding towards the kunai, which had embedded itself on the wall only moments before.
The fireballs were accurate to a degree. None of the fireballs hit the same exact spot, but at least one of them nailed the kunai and the other two glanced it. It was a good shot.
There we go... that's much better.
Ako, satisfied with his work, walked back over to the wall and sat down, leaning against it. He closed his eyes, waiting for Leera to regain consciousness. Then he could go teach his last class and not have to teach again. But he knew it was his duty to teach the younger generation, and he would come back to teach as needed.
Leera wasn't out for long. Her body just needed a quick rest. After a few minutes, her eyes flickered open and she groaned. Her body still throbbed with every heartbeat.
Slowly, she pushed herself up and climbed to her feet. She stumbled around, gathering up all of her weapons.
"We're leaving. I need rest and another class."
Reni followed Leera closely, measuring the girl's mood and condition. She was fairly sure that Leera had accepted that she couldn't push her body anymore and that it was time to take a break.
Once she had all of her weapons, Leera turned to Ako, but refused to meet his gaze.
"Thank you for the lesson...it was very helpful." She nodded her head slightly. "Just remember what I said."
Then she was out of the room, heading to her own, with Reni close behind.

"Your welcome," Ako replied, "and I'll be sure to keep it in mind." He put his first two fingers to his head and saluted her off, but he was sure she didn't see it. She was still mad at him probably.
I've definantly got this girl... now I just need to wait.
Ako smiled, got up, and left the room. He had places to go, people to see, and things to do.
