View Full Version : An unexpected training partner ( Private )
OOC: This thread is for Blazestorm and myself only, as it was pre-arranged this way.
IC;
It was early in the morning, the sun readying to raise over Nagare as Natase shut his door behind himself, preparing to do his daily exorcise. With a small yawn he rubbed his mat of black hair, it spiking upwards as soon as the pressure from his hand was released. Soon after he finished rubbing his hair he adjusted his forehead protector, which was tilted so that the metallic faceplate was on the right side of his head, raised about an inch above the ear. His hands ran down his body, patting a multitude of different objects, making sure he had everything. His glove-covered hands ran over the back of hips, feeling both the combat knife and the whip. He smiled as his digits caressed these tools of death, feeling like they were apart of him.
After a few more moments of making sure he had everything, he would touch the bridge of his nose, pulling down the piece of black material which covered most of his face, revealing the soft flesh. He pulled a pack of cigarettes from his left pocket, as well as a zippo lighter. Taking a single cigarette from the pack, he would hold the filter within his lips as he lit it, taking the first hit of his morning cigarette. While exhaling through his nostrils he would slip the lighter and pack into his left pocket, smiling as he pulled the cigarette away from his mouth for a moment, looking to the rest of the city. "Damn.....this is going to be a good day". It turns out Natase had no nightmares the night before, so there was hope of a good day. His free-handed fingers moved over the tattoo beneath his right eye, the one stating the name of his hatred, his nightmares, his power; 'Viper'. He frowned as he did this, stopping rather hastily and hitting his cigarette once more, starting a sprint towards the Nagarian training grounds within the woodlands.
Natase jogged for quite a bit, his tight black pants not holding his leg movements back at all, his sandaru beating against the ground in a rapid rhythmic pattern, moving his hand up once more to take another hit of the cigarette before he entered the forest. He would leap upwards, holding his cigarette in his lips as he grabbed a branch with both hands, using the swinging momentum and releasing at the right time so he would land on another, higher branch. He would run on the branches for a short while before leaping down, landing in the middle of the training area. It was rather large, but he was the only one training at this time, surprisingly. Most shinobi would be up and about at this time, ah well. The genin would walk a casual lap around the outdoor facility. Being only fourteen while standing at 5'10" may make him seem a bit older than he really was, though, he was just tall for his age. His build was lithe and lean, no unneeded bulk adorning the tight musculature.
As he walked he unzipped his jacket, tossing his cigarette butt into a trash can, soon after returning the piece of black material to it's rightful place; to where it covered half of his face. He would sigh softly, looking around the area once more. "This is so dull....routine.." he said aloud as he sulked about his own self-method training. The gloomy slightly misted setting was a bit of a downer, the smooth bark of the surrounding trees would make a nice target for his whip, though. The soles of his sandaru slid against the dirt as he ran through his Muay Thai formations, striking a wooden dummy with his elbows and knees to further strengthen the limbs.

Ako was sleeping within the trees as first light appeared. He had been admitted entrance the night before to the village and decided he'd sleep here and wake up at dawn to find any training partners. Luckily for Ako, he did not have to wait long to spot a potential partner.
Ako analyzed this newcomer. Judging by his speed he was either a slow chuunin or a fast genin. That was of course assuming he was even running at top speed. Going by the guys height and appearance, Ako figured he was probably a chuunin. Either way it was a good target. Ako could stay back and use his new ranged jutsu in a mock combat situation. The last thing Ako noticed was his fighting style, Muay Thai, just like himself...
Interesting...
Ako hopped out of his tree and landed some distance behind the shinobi. He yelled out to him, attempting to use his new found social graces.
"Hello! Seems like you could use a training partner. How about having a spar with me?"
Ako then tried to smile. He didn't feel like it came out right though.
Natase turned around to face the one who had spoken to him, as they had made no intention of concealing their location, or even hiding themselves. Jade hued eyes would observe the male, and it was when he saw the Hyougaan symbol on the metallic face plating of the headband on the male's head that he opened his mouth to speak in common tongue, a slight Nagarian accent holding to the words.
"You are not of this village. What business do you have here?" Natase said to the male, not introducing himself nor answering the unorthodox question which was proposed. Instead he would roll his head back, from left to right, causing it to crack as he let out a soft sigh. He would look to the treetops, and speaking in Nagarian tongue he would say; "What a pity...this Hyougaan fool comes to my vilages training ground and asks for a friendly spar?"
The orbs of jade would once more fall upon the Hyougaan. To his advantage, he had at least been polite. "Alright, I will humor you. What are your rules for this bout, Hyougaan?" Natase would say, his hands falling to his hips, his right hand slipping back a bit so that his fingers would wrap around the leather-bound hilt of the combat knife which was concealed behind his right hip, out of sight with the way he was positioned right now. Even though this opposing shinobi had probably seen it upon Natase's entrance to the training grounds and when his back was turned, the element of surprise was still worth a shot.
He parted his legs a bit more, giving them an even distance as he lowered his body a tad bit, the black cloth which was left over from being tied on his headband draping down, brushing against his cheek as he further examined the foe combatant. His rank was unknown, as he had just appeared, though judging from his stature and the way he presented himself, he was nothing above Chuunin. After all, shinobi don't usually make a habit out of coming to an opposing village and asking one of it's members for a spar at random. That was a fool's death wish, and unless the opposing shinobi was quite skilled, his last breaths may be occurring at this very moment.

"Simple... no killing. We are allies are we not?"
It was true, for the most part. Nagare and Hyouga were allies in the last great war, and unless something had happened recently, they still were.
It's a pity I have to show this technique to a Nagarian... oh well thought Ako. An option was to kill this person, but the consequences of that action are not worth it.
"I'll start"
Ako then took out a kunai and threw it towards his opponent. He hadn't introduced himself yet. Didn't matter though, Ako could recognize him in other places now.
After Ako threw the kunai, Ako put hit hands together in preparation to make some quick seals.
Natase's grip upon his combat knife only tightened as the opposing shinobi spoke, his accent clear enough as he spoke in common tongue. He was no doubt from Hyouga, unless he was an impostor who was skilled enough to accent his own voice. Though there was a jutsu which changed ones voice. Those calculating jade-hued orbs continued scanning over the Hyougaan, Natase's facial expression hidden underneath the black spandex-esque material which covered the lower half of his face. It was unknown to the Hyougaan, but he was smiling.
"Most who challenge others to a fight at random would introduce themselves. I'm not insisting that I'm one for formalities, but a name would be nice" Natase said in common tongue as he continued scanning the Hyougaan. It was obvious enough that he wasn't going to introduce himself as he reached to grab a kunai and threw it in Natase's direction.
It was with dexterous feet that Natase would nimbly avoid the kunai, it passing just over his right shoulder, making a small tear in his jacket. He frowned as this happened, realizing just how badly he needed to improve on dodging projectiles. Natase never stopped watching the Hyougaan, and it was as he first began to string hand seals together that Natase would use his left hand to reach into the pouch adorning his left thigh, pulling out three shuriken and throwing them in the Hyougaan's direction. Both shuriken which held the end of the line of three would be aimed for the shoulders, while the third shuriken, the one in the center, would be aimed for the moving hands. It was more than likely that he would miss his mark, though.
That didn't matter, as it was just a distraction. Natase began charging in the direction of the Hyougaan, dashing in a wide arc, his hips bouncing slightly as he prepared for an attack, and the evasion of that attack. "Feel my fangs..." Natase said as he released his grip on the combat knife, freeing his right hand as his left moved back to grip the handle of the whip which was on the back of his left hip, popping the clasp and freeing the weapon. Though he held it so that it was still coiled, so that it was out of sight.
As Natase moved within twenty feet of the opposing shinobi he knew that the attack would be coming soon, the string of hand seals, if uninterrupted by his rather poor attempt of a distraction, should be finished any moment. Natase's eyes became much more keen as he prepared to dodge, his arc to the opposing shinobi's left side continuing.

Ako crouched down as he finished his hand seals. The shuriken flew over his head as he spoke quietly "Katon: Maruchi Dangan". His chakra nearly finished molding. He had directed it from his core, up towards his right shoulder and down his arm towards the palm.
As soon as his chakra molding was complete, he took a step forward and rose to a standing position, thrusting his palm forward launching 3 jounin fast and rather powerful fireballs at his opponent. The fireballs were small, but fast and powerful.
The first was aimed straight at his opponent, the other slightly in front of the shinobi's path, and the final one even farther in front of that. This was to allow Ako to get down the timing and aim he would need to be able to get a hit. Doing this was well worth the effort.
OOC: here's the jutsu link if you need it: Katon: Maruchi Dangan no Jutsu (Fire Multi Shot Technique) (http://www.theninja-forum.com/Vbulletin/showthread.php?t=17722)
Natase watched as the Hyougaan finished the string of hand seals, and it was when he extended his forearm that Natase began evasive movements. Not bothering to waste his chakra on Kawarimi, he would instead proceed as he had planned. As the first, fastest fireball shot out Natase would cut his arc, cutting to the left as he now charged the shinobi head-on, the fireballs whipping past his right side, no further than three feet from him. As he closed into ten feet he would dash forwards, lowering himself so that he could act out further evasive movements if needed. He began to cock hsi left arm back, his fingers loosening on the bulk of the whip, preparing to let the serrated fangs rip into the Hyougaan's flesh. He had no remorse about this, no second thoughts.
Once within six feet he would flick his left arm outwards horizontally, aiming to strike the right knee of the opposing shinobi, leaving enough bulk on the whip so that the section containing the serrated teeth could wrap around the appendage, tearing it open and rendering his leg useless. He continued analyzing the shinobi, and thinking about the jutsu which he had just activated. The fireballs were quite large, and they were moving quite fast. This made up Natase's mind about this Hyougaan being a chuunin, as nothing below a chuunin could unleash something that powerful.
Natase's right hand snaked back into the pouch on the small of his back; the standard shinobi pouch. He would pull out a single kunai knife, holding it in a reverse grip as he prepared to take a defensive role if his attack were to fail. He wasn't all to worried, though. He had faith in his own skill, and judging from the Hyougaan's last attack, not too much faith in his talent. He smirked as he lurched forwards, bringing his whip towards his foe's body, his lips began to move, the words which came out came in Nagarian; "Now....feed my beloved, feed upon the flesh of the weak."

Those were great shots Ako... thought Ako to himself. He had greatly misjudged the speed of the fireballs and missed with all three of them... that and his opponent wasn't a slouch. Good thing Ako could change up the timing of his fireballs.
Ako watched his opponent run forward. To Ako, it was like he was in slow motion. Having been a chuunin for 3 years now, Ako was used to some slightly faster prey. That's when he saw the whip. Ako took a step forward ready to sprint, the next moment he had disappeared.
He reappeared right in front of Natase, not that Ako knew his name, Ako's left arm blocking Natase's right. Ako then threw a cross at Natase's face, following up with a right round kick to just above Natase's knee cap. Landing that foot in front he knee'd Natase with his left knee, throwing a left hook towards Natase's jaw. Keeping the momentum he spun fully around and attempted to knock Natase back with a backhand strike.
Should Ako's opponent be launched back Ako would follow by moving through his handseals and firing another Maruchi Dangan at Natase's torso.
Natase smirked as he saw the chuunin running forwards, running right into his whip's reach. The whip would smack against the outer right side of his right knee and then wrap around it, coiling swiftly just before the serrated steel teeth would smack into the soft, fleshy back of the knee, digging it's half-inch fangs into the flesh, embedding itself in the soft tissue and rendering the knee unusable. The landing of the attack and the wound which was now inflicted upon the Hyougaan would most likely cause his run to become a one-legged stumble, causing him to either fall or run into another of Natase's attacks, one of which could easily be a death-stroke at this point.
Though, as the Hyougaan would most presumably stumble forwards, his leg caught in the grasp of the whip, Natase would leap back and to his left a bit, avoiding the unlikely chance of the Hyougaan releasing a jutsu. Tossing the Kunai behind himself as he took the handle of the whip with his right hand also, just above his left. He would rip upwards, in attempts to out-muscle the Hyougaan and cause him to fall onto his back, his right leg being tugged forwards and to his own(Ako's) right side. Natase had the leverage, and the presumed falling/stumbling forwards momentum which the Hyougaan possessed wouldn't be too much to handle.
Natase began calculating his next move, waiting to analyze the Hyougaan's reaction to being injured so early on. Natase spoke once more in Nagarian tongue, smirking from under his 'mask'; "And so the weak fall prey to the strong. Feed, my love, upon the greatest gift which the Gods have bestowed upon us". As Natase pulled back on the whip it would cause the serrated 'fangs' of the whip to pull to the Hyougaan's right, tearing his flesh even more, the serrated spikes severing limbs and drawing a good amount of blood while doing so.
Though Natase was still aware, still alert of his surroundings. He didn't know if the Hyougaan had brought back-up or not. He kept himself calm, not allowing what seemed to be a small victory to cause him the war. He couldn't help but smile though, as he was anticipating the Hyougaan's scream once he felt the back of his knee be punctured by four steel spikes. Would it be high pitched, or low pitched, Natase wondered to himself as he watched the Hyougaan, keeping his other senses clear.

OOC: you shouldn't have hit me. Neo says you should've struggled to even catch a glimpse of me, and Devil also agrees that I would've dodged the whip. You can say I was dealt a glancing blow if you wish and dodge up to 2 strikes because of that if you want though. Sorry for the condescending-ness of that statement.
OOC: I had Anki look over posts as well and she agrees that you ran directly into my attack. The fact of the matter is that I was attacking forwards before your little burst of speed or whatever you did, and you ran forwards; directly into my attack. Also, if my attack was to hit, which is extremely likely, it would nullify the rest of your strikes, because I doubt you'd throw a punch with four steel spikes stabbed into the back of your knee. Chances are you'd just fall, or stumble forwards and then fall.

OOC: well, first, the thing I did was a taijutsu move named Crashing River. so you don't have to look it up, here it is.
Crashing River
Rank: B
Requirements: high speed
Description: The user begins a dash, the next second they vanish in a burst of speed re-appearing right in front of the opponent, following which the user makes four strikes and sends the target flying with a backhand.
2nd, I initiated the move as you pulled your arm back with the whip, not when it was going forward.
OOC:You didn't post initiating that Taijutsu move, so, I will not allow it to have been acted out. You said nothing about it, and with any technique, I think it is only fair that you declare doing it before you do, so that this very thing does not happen.
Also, my whip is in my left hand, and this is what you posted.
"He reappeared right in front of Natase, not that Ako knew his name, Ako's left arm blocking Natase's right."
You blocked my kunai-bearing arm, while leaving my whip-bearing arm alone.
Also, my attack was posted before any of those things which you did, and if the attack would land, as it should seeing as how you did nothing to evade it, you wouldn't have been able to have very much follow up.
Also, I posted jumping back and to my characters left as the whip tangled around your leg, which would further prevent you from striking me.

OOC: well actually, Afro doesn't say the name of his jutsu either. He only hints at it. How I posted it follows the description of the jutsu very closely... so it works. At least going by what Afro said.
as for blocking the kunai bearing arm, its more of a threat in close-range combat. whips do nothing so close to a person.
the post order doesn't matter. Actions like that don't happen "You attack, I defend" they happen in an instant.
the jumping back probably wouldn't have happened before I managed to land a blow on you. even then I'd follow you to where you landed. I'm faster than you and going forward is faster than going backwards any day.
now, I'm pretty sure Neko is on my side here. If you want I can go edit my crashing river post into something else, as I have plenty of ways to avoid your attack.
OOC: That is still bullshit, because if you hinted at any jutsu, it would be Shunshin no Jutsu, because your description of 'hinting' at is disappearing.
And don't be condescending, I realize how role-play works. It isn't 'You attack, I defend', but my attack should have landed, and if so then it would enable you from further continuing your string of what, nine attacks in one post?

ooc: I'll give you two options.
1. Delete both posts and make two entirely new ones.
2. Edit your attack name into the post, and go from there.

OOC: Malice, I'll give you the choice. Let me know.
OOC: In all honesty, I really don't care anymore.
Me and my girlfriend of seven months just broke up, my Grandfather on my mother's side is dying, and my Father's mother is dying.
Right now I need to focus on my life, and not on this website.
This thread may be closed in a draw with both characters, though, I'd like to request that Blazestorm gets a full page of training for his jutsu because of this.
Sorry for putting you through so much crap, man, and I'm sorry for bailing out on this.

OOC: It's ok man. I understand. It's a good choice you made. I hope everything works out for you.
IC: Ako looked down as the whip buried itself into his flesh. It hurt, but it wasn't anything Ako was about to cry over. He crouched down a little and tugged at the whip, counter balancing the force Natase was trying to use to knock Ako off balance.
I must've not paid very much attention to the whip. It seemed slower to me.
Ako was about to counter when he realized there was something more important each person needed to do. Slowly removing the serrated fangs of the whip, Ako dismissed himself from his opponent, and disappeared, leaving a trunk in its place. This was the simple move known to all ninja as Kawarimi.
EXIT
OOC: I just need closure on this thread.
IC;
Natase smirked as the whip coiled around the leg, though the spikes of the whip did not bury themselves too deeply into the flesh, not deep enough to cause great damage anyways, he was surprised at the opposing Shinobi's reserve as he kept a calm face, bending down to release the whip. Natase had some further understanding, realizing that this fight was finished. He sighed and turned around, feeling his whip hit the ground and his opponent leave in a stylish fashion; Kawarimi. His left arm would twitch slightly, still having the whip's handle in his grasp he would reach upwards, towards his face and touch the tattoo which lied underneath the black partial-face mask. "A Viper's mark can never be forgotten..." Natase said to himself quietly, turning and returning the way he had come, his whip dragging on the ground behind him.
