:: Language System ::

-------
After much talk and deliberation we decided to add a new concept to the RPG to add to the nationalism and pride of your character: From now on your RPCs will now be able to speak in different languages.

Now when you interact with others and you would like to speak in a different language just color it the corresponding colors (or something very close these are just examples).

Available Languages:
Nagare - Nagarian [Navy]
Konoki - Konoi [Dark Green]
Sato - Sati[Purple]
Rikuhi - Rikuhuu [Dark Orange]
Hyouga - Hyougaan [Medium Turquoise]

In addition to these languages, the global language 'Common' exists to allow communication between every RPC of any specific village. Common does not count as an additional language.

Each rank of shinobi is allowed a certain amount of additional languages. This amount increases to simulate the journeys an RPC will have as they 'grow' in the world and learn things from their adventures.

Number of Languages/per rank:
Academy Students - 1 Language + Common
Genin/Chuunin - 2 Languages + Common
Jounin/Elite Jounin - 3 Languages + Common
Sennin/Kage – 4 Languages + Common

As seen, each rank grants an additional language that can be added to a character's repertoire. One naturally is fluent in his native village language and has an accent of that language in any other tongue. Note that this may vary from RPC to another in degree and placement. Background should contain a reason on why your RPC learned the languages.

To keep in accordance with the Civilian system, all Civilians must have Common as a language, and are allowed up to a maximum of one (1) other language. Also note that the Shinobi Academy as well as most merchants, innkeepers, restaurateurs speak primarily in Common.

Other languages:
Some people like to develop their own languages, and this is perfectly acceptable. However a character is only allowed to learn two (2) additional languages that are not any of the main village languages.

This includes sign language or other forms of communicative forms.

Creating an additional spoken language is only available to a clan or organisation with the only exception to this rule being non-verbal communicative forms.

If you wish for your character to have another language once you have reached your maximum of two (2) languages, you may sacrifice any available language slots for the new language or communicative form.

And what of the extras gained before becoming an Academy Student, basically the BG condition?

Unlike the earlier system, this one works such that backgrounds have no influence on the languages a character knows, nor are there accents or fluency details.
I think this quote should say it all.

Awesome! Gallish is a gogo!

Edit: Wait... What about approved characters?

If its already approved...then it is already approved.
I personally am not going to make people undergo such minor changes until they rank up.

There can't be many people outside of these rules anyway.

Um excuse question, what does it mean by common? Does that mean pick out a second language, how exactly do you put down a common language?

Common's basically the language that everyone in the rp world speaks. I don't believe you HAVE to pick common as a second language, but it comes in handy when you're rping with a someone who's from another Village.
