[ooc: training thread for me but anyone's welcome to join in]

Today’s goal for Rei: library visit. He needed a scroll to learn a jutsu. Normally, he wouldn’t be this diligent in learning a simple jutsu but certain circumstances changed his needs. Ironically that circumstance was his acceptance into the shinobi ranks as a genin. His father was pleased as to be expected, his mother still did not know nor did her side of the family, and his brothers were a whole other story. They had decided to test whether or not his rank was real. At first, it was thrown shuiken and kunai; Rei was able to dodge those. Next was trying to attack him unguarded; the attack near the public baths had been the highlight of the attacks. Rei was finally defeated when he ended up tied down his chair. It took him his whole day before he escaped, and that was by breaking the chair not escaping from the ropes. Now he had to replace the chair he broke.

Walking into the library, Rei headed towards the jutsu section looking for one that might suit his needs. Wouldn’t you know it, there was one after all: Nawanuke no Jutsu. Rei took the scroll out and went to a table to read what it contained.

Few minutes later, Rei rolled the scroll and returned it to its shelf. The jutsu itself looked simple enough; there would be no need to bring the scroll for reference. Rei excited the library and proceeded back home. The first thing he would need to practice this jutsu, was a rope.

Rei had holed himself inside his room. It was the only place in the house where he could practice without being disturbed. Plus his floor was more comfortable than a training ground. It did look like it was going to take a while for him to learn the technique.

Leaning over a book on knots, Rei tried his best to make a hard-to-break knot to practice on. What he got… was not what another person would have had in mind. In Rei’s hands was a length rope with numerous knots tied. Ranging from simple square knots to numerous complicated ones, one could infer how long the rope truly was.

Getting back on the true reason for said rope, Rei got set to practice Nawanuke no Jutsu. Rei took the ropes into his hands and proceeded to mold his chakra. Chakra flowed from his body and entered the rope in his hands. It allowed him to sense the details of the knots in the rope, from the loops to the hinges; everything was felt through the chakra. It was a different sensation form just being able to see the knots. He could follow the knot like a pipeline due to the chakra in it. Know with this newfound knowledge of the rope, it was time to try the jutsu.

Picking a knot to practice on was the first part. Rei would not pick from one the easier ones; they were a bit below his dignity. Picking one of the more complicated ones, Rei focused his chakra on the knot and began on loosening it. It was a tedious process as the chakra flowed through the rope, making it a task to make the chakra move the rope. Nevertheless, Rei focused on his chakra and began to make minute movements on its flow. The trick to moving the rope was making the rope adhere to the chakra he was using. Needless to say, making chakra stick to the rope and moving it at the same time was something Rei had not done until now, but he was not deterred from continuing on with the task. Focusing on his chakra, Rei began moving the chakra in the knot. For a while, the rope didn’t budge, then suddenly Rei heard the rope begin to move. It wasn’t much but at least he had begun to move the rope.

Rei began to feel a fatigued all of sudden. He had used too much chakra on the rope and wasn’t able to use his chakra efficiently enough. All in all, he needed more practice. Resting for now, Rei sat down on his bed and prepared for the next trial.

Edit: [ooc: exit for now]

Rupert was jumping around the continent, and hopped on Reigi's roof, softly, for half a second. He made a handseal, and left.
